Xbox 360 Dominates 2011 as U.S.’ Best Selling Platform

After 5 years and 2 months, the Xbox 360 continues to prove that it still has some gas left in its tank.
Perhaps a little help from Halo, or perhaps a little help from Kinect, but the ultimate conclusion is that the Xbox 360 was a selling beast in 2011. Microsoft can stand tall and be proud of what the have done with Xbox 360 thus far.
Today’s NPD numbers proved that even a 5 year console can still bring in some great sales numbers. Sales across both the Xbox 360 and PS3 were up 5% in 2011, while the Xbox 360 specifically accounted for “nearly 40% of annual 2011 new physical retail sales across all categories.” NPD notes that the Xbox 360 was the best-selling platform for the year.
