TheSun.co.uk is reporting the following story: POLICE seized a lorry full of stolen computer games — but it was nicked from their pound just hours later.

Shutters at cops’ secure depot were smashed open and the vehicle driven off before being checked for fingerprints or DNA.

The lorry was found days later but the £600,000 haul of games for PlayStation 3 — whose titles include Grand Theft Auto — was gone.

A police spokesman said: “We are pursuing a number of lines of enquiry, including eBay transactions where a number of the games have been potentially identified as being advertised for sale. Arrests have already been made in respect of this.”

The loot was stolen in Northampton while the driver rested.

Seven pallets of titles, including 16,000 copies of war game Brothers In Arms: Hell’s Highway, were loaded on to a blue Renault lorry and driven to Leeds — but cops there spotted its fake number plates and recovered the missing gear.

It was taken to a tightly-controlled compound — then stolen again hours later.

The lorry was then found empty last Monday in a Matalan car park in nearby Bradford, West Yorks.

Cops are appealing for witnesses to the thefts or info on the games.

But makers Ubi Soft insisted: “Fans needn’t worry as more stock is being parachuted in.”
