PC-based distribution launches in Japan in January
AM3 has officially announced the DSVision service, allowing users to download movies, television shows, books, and manga.

Licensed by Nintendo, AM3 is partnering with Dai Nippon to launch the service in Japan next year.

DSVision is a PC-based distribution platform. The kit, consisting of a USB reader/writer and a 512MB Micro SD card, will be available in January. It will allow users to purchase content from the DSVision website, download it to a PC, and transfer it to the Micro SD card for use in the Nintendo DS handheld.

The retail price for the kit will be 3,890 Yen, or approximately USD 37, and the download service itself should launch in March.

Organisers promise 300 titles at launch, expanding to 10,000 titles by 2010, although this was not broken down by category. It is unclear whether or not DS games and demos will eventually be made available over the service along with videos and books.
