Multi-national energy conglomerate British Petroleum has joined forces with Electronic Arts to educate gamers about climate change in SimCity: Societies, set to come out for PCs on November 13th.

The corporate sponsorship of one of the biggest energy concerns on earth should solve a key problems of Sim City: Too much pollution. We have a feeling that BP-branded power plants in the the new game will actually lower your city's pollution, along with resurrecting extinct species of animals and spitting chocolate bars.

"BP was one of the first major energy companies to publicly acknowledge the need to reduce carbon emissions and begin taking precautionary measures. As such, they are the perfect partner to help educate people on this important social issue in SimCity Societies," said Steve Seabolt, Vice President of Global Brand Development for The Sims Label at EA.

Above is a BP branded solar power plant from the game. Man, BP are practically Greenpeace!
