The Entertainment Software Rating Board is helping protect Idahoan minors against videogame violence with a new public service announcement campaign.

The campaign is designed to explain the EC (Early Childhood) to AO (Adults Only) ESRB ratings system, as well as to show a commitment on the part of the self-regulated games industry to parents.

“...With 1,000 new games released every year, how are parents to make, and help their kids make, good choices? The video game rating system is a good place to start,” said Attorney General Wasden in an ESRB press release.

The campaign will include announcements on TV and radio in Idaho through Christmas. Brochures will also be distributed.

“Just like movies and TV shows, video games are created for a diverse audience of all ages,” said ESRB president Patricia Vance (pictured). “That is why it is so important that parents remember to check the rating when choosing games for their children.”
