Xbox 360 Arcade Bundle Inbound?

North American retailer listings suggest that Microsoft will release a revised entry-level Xbox 360, the Arcade bundle, later this month.
An Amazon listing claims the Xbox 360 Arcade will be released October 23, while Toys R Us lists the console as available for shipping by October 25. Both retailers list the Arcade bundle for pre-order for $279.99, the same asking price as the existing Core unit.
It appears that the Arcade bundle will consist of a Core 360 console, a wireless controller and a memory card pre-loaded with five Xbox Live Arcade games.
Numerous US retailers, including GameStop, have already removed listings for the original Xbox 360 Core unit, suggesting it will be replaced by the Arcade bundle.
Microsoft was not available for comment at the time of going to press.
