Reports indicate that the long-expected Xbox 360 Falcon featuring a 65nm CPU has hit the streets. While rumors of a revised Xbox 360 first surfaced back in July, a number of consumers have uploaded posts to the Xbox forums stating that the new hardware is now available, and can be found in the form of the recently released Halo 3 special edition Xbox 360s. One Xbox.com user has even left a post informing others how to identify whether or not they have the new model.

The new hardware, which reportedly features a 65-nanometer processor instead of the older 90-nanometer CPU, is supposedly more cost efficient and offers greater reliability than previous Xbox 360 models. Greater overall console stability should reduce the risk of overheating, an issue that has strongly been linked to the three red lights of death failure.

Microsoft was unavailable for comment at the time of going to press.
