Electronic Arts allocates resources to ensure the Xbox 360 version of games headed to both Microsoft's box and the PlayStation 3 gets done first.

Matt Richtel of the New York Times spoke with EA spokesman Jeff Brown, who said that one of the reasons many 360 versions of multiplatform titles make it out first is that personnel are assigned to complete the 360 game ahead of the PS3 title. Since the 360 has a larger installed base, it makes sense to move the Xbox version out the door first.

Brown said that this was not uncommon, and the same thing was done last generation, only the PlayStation 2 version hit the street ahead of the Xbox game.
