EA Feels the Noise, Acquires SingShot

Electronic Arts announced today they would be acquiring online karaoke community SingShot and all its Web 2.0 influence. No price was noted, but EA's press release stresses SingShot will help "accelerate EA's efforts in community-building and promoting user-generated content." They also discuss how the technology behind live communities can be applied to "several community projects" at EA.
Nancy Smith, exec. VP and group general manager at EA commented, "We are thrilled to bring the SingShot team into EA. They are tremendously talented, technically adept and true experts in developing user-generated communities through music. We see a bright future for the technology and each of these individuals within EA."
Could this be EA prepping an answer to the currently dominating Karaoke Revolution series?
