According to official U.S. government sources, Microsoft has won approval for a wireless Internet device for its XBox console. Fresh following the official company announcement of the launch of the XSN Sports connectivity feature, it seems that Microsoft is about to add another accessory to the XBox's arsenal.

The site for the Office of Engineering and Technology of the U.S. Federal Communications Commission featured news of the approval, complete with images of a black box marked 54 Mbps and an instruction manual.

A Microsoft spokeswoman claimed that the announcement had been placed on the U.S. government web site in error but did confirm the device, although she claimed most product details, including price and launch date are secret. The device has been manufactured by Taiwan's Advance Data Technology Corp. and similar devices allowing wire-free access to the internet cost around USD $100.00.
