Paralyzed, but still getting his game on.

At age 14, Robert Florio thought he'd never play video games again. Florio was paralyzed at age 14, in 1996, after a swimming accident. Florio details the importance of video games in his own life on his website:

My personal experience comes from being paralyzed at the age of 14 years old and visiting the recreational enter in the hospital and the only interest I had to break out of my depression was to play the videogame system. I quickly lost interest when I learned I could not play them and never picked up interest in it until almost one year after my injury.

Paralyzed, Florio didn't think he'd be able to play videogames, but with the help of adaptive interfaces (mouth-controlled controllers, like the Quad Control) Florio is still able to game. How do these controllers work? Florio put up some videos showing he and the controller in action playing Psychonauts and The Matrix: Path of Neo (you can watch them at Gamevideos here and here).
