Someone comes to their senses down South

No one expected the Louisiana bill meant to curb sales of violent videogames to minors would make it through the courts system. All similar bills have fallen onto their death bed once given legal scrutiny, and it appears the state of Louisiana's attempt will suffer a similar fate -- though you won't see anyone from the games industry weeping.

Louisiana newspaper The Advocate ran a story this morning stating that U.S. District Judge James Brady issues a temporary restraining order against the bill, meaning lawmakers must await legal scrutiny before any enforcement can take place. The bill's permanent injunction hearing has already been set for June 27th.

State representative still believe the bill's three-pronged test will be a narrow enough definition to survive Brady's upcoming examination of the bill, but politicians always say that before their bills are about to implode.
