Gamers should prepare for Iron and the Maiden.

Two years ago, Jason Rubin left Naughty Dog, the company he founded back with Andy Gavin back in 1986. The two managed to turn the company best remembered for the ridiculous 3DO fighter Way of the Warrior into a development powerhouse known for solid platformers powered by some of the industry's most incredible visuals.

He's back. No one's known quite what Rubin has been up to since his departure in 2004, and news has come from the most unlikeliest of Internet cesspools: MySpace. Rubin actually has an account on the angst-fueled Internet community of emo teens, and has used the space to reveal the first details on his next game, Iron and the Maiden.

After 20 years at Naughty Dog I've decided to try something new. "Iron and the Maiden" will be my first solo project.

It isn't "Crash Bandicoot", and it isn't "Jak and Daxter".

This is something new. Raw, Uncensored, Uncut.

It's been in the back of my head for years looking to get out, and I've assembled an incredible team to bring it to fruition. -- Jason Rubin on MySpace

Nothing else about Iron and the Maiden is known, but Rubin sure as hell better be having the one and only kings of metal, Iron Maiden, powering the soundtrack. Stay tuned for more.
