Australian may have to wait a little longer to get their hands on the xbox 360
The website Gamer Within is reporting a possible delay For the Xbox 360 launch In Australia. Originally planned for March 2nd, the launch may be pushed back March 23rd.

Several “rumors” are circulating supporting the possible delay. Next weeks catalogue for Target stores in Austraila has a release date of March 23rd.

Of course when contacted about the possible delay, Microsoft would not comment.

Australia is one of the largest single markets forced to wait until for the Xbox 360. However, with stock severally limited worldwide – particularly in Europe, which Australia commonly mirrors in terms of release dates – it is unlikely that any other market will have enough Xbox 360’s to spare for a quicker launch.

"Based on launch and production capacity, we are hoping not to have any stock issues, but it is difficult to forecast demand," said David McLean, director Xbox Australia and New Zealand. Although Australia will be one of the last countries to get the Xbox 360 it is, proportionally, the most successful territory for Microsoft with a market share of 35 to 40 percent, which McLean is keen to extend to beyond 50 percent with the Xbox 360.

Hopefully this is nothing more than a rumor and Australia will finally see the Xbox 360 on March 2nd.
