Agian with the format wars, this time its about Anti-piracy. Even though both Blu-ray and HD-DVD are useing the same and similer methods someone at the Blu-Ray Disc Association decided it would be fun to cause some more problems after it seemed the heat settled.
Some of the features talked about are Advanced Access Content System (AACS), which is also used by HD-DVD.
It provides a content management system that apparently "enables new consumer usage models around network functionality and internet connectivity"
Also, to add ontop of that Blu-ray has a new "ROM Mark" feature. It adds a digital "water mark" on the disc's which can only be applied by licensed content creators and therefore cannot - in theory - be duplicated by pirates( The XDK kit for xbox, which has a similer "Game Disc Authoring" Tool) and a system called BD+ which allows content providers to upgrade there encryption with a sort of "patch"
People need to relax- the next generation looks so good.
