' Besides the various tweaks and fixes made to the user.interface.x xbe (which will all be covered in either later news or the release readme), todays news is about a new capability up till now only available to those running a debug bios '
As anyone who knows me will tell you, I have NEVER been a fan of FTP, and the fact that the scene is dependant on a 20 year old protocol annoyed me to no end. So I took steps to do something about it :) user.interface.x (uix) has just jumped from it's 0.0x version right to version 2.0, and is, as of now, the only dash to fully support xbox debug connectivity. "What does this mean to me ?" one might ask. In an example we are all familiar with: XBMC installs via xbdm in less than 1 minute - compare that to any ftp install. It also opens the xbox to a whole new level of pc-side applications that can achieve levels of interaction that ftp could struggle to attempt at best.

Pictured below is an xbox running uix as seen by the XDK's "Xbox Neighborhood" shell extension. This is just a fraction of what can now be achieved with a pc-side xbox app...

In this example the user has named their xbox "BlueHeaven", and again - is NOT running a debug bios, yet still retains full Xbox Neighborhood functionality! :)

So I've been busy you say :) Yes - but there's more... user.interface.x.tools is also well underway. a .NET version of WinXIP is the 1st tool added so far. (Pictured below)

New features include remote xbox browsing and xip editing (no more xferring xips after editing yaaaay !), multiple file and drag and drop support, ability to xip a whole folder, and a bunch of import/export functionality that will come from the next tools to be added to toolkit - Mesh Tools and Image Tools. Also to be added to toolkit is a script debugger which will give you a debug-like output of what is going on to make xap scripting MUCH easier.

We also have a few new skin styles in the works for ya, but as you can see it's not like we've been twiddling our thumbs ;P The new release will be coming soon and will most likely only include stock skin so you don't have to wait while we finish up the other ones :)

To our loyal users : Thanks for your continued support ;) To xbox devs : msg me - let's start a revolution :)
