Microsoft Big man, Bill Gates confirmed that Microsoft plans to make future Revisions to there Upcoming Next Gen console, and may incorporate HD-DVD technology into the system somewhere down the line. The initial shipments of Xbox 360 will be based on today's DVD format.

Whats most interesting though, Gates confirmed that the first generation of Xbox 360 is likely to be joined over time by models with additional functionality - specifically, extra features which are designed to improve the system's abilities as a home media center. Whether this will be through Upgrade packages you buy, or revions to the hardware is yet unknown.
