The PS3 hardware that was running at last months E3 was only at 75% of the final system speed. Meaning, they want you to belive the demos you saw (Which are Believed to be pre-rendered) weren't running at maximum Capacity. SCEE development boss Phil Harrison said,"It only gets better from here on in,"



The Cell chip in the development kits runs at 2.4GHz but the final chip will run at 3.2 GHz, and the graphics part used for the demos wasn't the final RSX chip, but rather a different NVIDIA GPU which may not have been optimized for the PS3's high-speed RAMBUS memory interface. I guess the 360 wasn't the only unfinished thing at E3.
