ALSA (Advanced Linux Sound Architecture - alsa-project.org) 1.0.8 has been added to magic with (supposedly) full SPDIF (optical out) support. I don't have an SPDIF amplifier so I can't test it... so anyone who can - please do. If it works, I'll integrate into MCE shortly. (If that's not an incentive to give feedback, then what is?).
