The Xbox Linux Project at LinuxTag

Topic: Xbox Linux

From http://xbox-linux.sourceforge.net:
The Xbox Linux Project will have a booth at LinuxTag in Karlsruhe/Germany July 10th to 13th. To all visitors of our booth, we offer free modification of an Xbox to run Linux. Just write an email to Michael, wait for a confirmation email and take your Xbox with you at LinuxTag! If everything goes well, you will also be able to buy Xbox USB adaptor cables there. The fineprint: We'll modify the Xbox by programming the Xbox Linux BIOS onto the onboard Flash ROM. This means that you will not be able to use the Xbox for anything other than running Linux, unless you undo the modification. We'll check whether your Xbox is compatible with Linux, open it, solder two points and apply the 007/MechAssault hack. We'll be extremely careful, but we cannot be liable for any damage done to the Xbox (warranty void, broken Xbox, ...) - remember, we do it for free. We reserve the right to withdraw (e.g. for legal or personal problems) or modify (e.g. if there is a simpler way to modify the Xbox until then, making our offer obsolete) this offer at any time. If too many people sign up, we might not be able to modify all Xboxes. Also note that our modifications will not make your Xbox compatible with copied discs. Please always remember that we do this for free and just for fun, so we won't modify Xbox for people who want to sell the modified boxes afterwards. If there is anyone who thinks we violate their rights by doing this, please email Michael.
