It's with great pleasure that I can say I will have an alpha in a very select few testers hands as a birthday present to myself (Sunday), so you can tell this is going to be a full court press till completion. Don't expect to see any screenies till I get to the mesh stage of this project - well maybe a couple of suprise bonus feature screenies along the way.
Implemented so far:
* all runs from one directory - no more dependency on files on c partition
* total removal of xip protection... period
* dongle free dvd playback
Still to come:
* ftp
* custom mesh format as well as original
* skinning/materials loaded from xbx/ini as well as changable in dash without need for reboot
* extended use of filesystem removing dependency on items being in xips
* removal of 100 soundtrack limit
... tons more - but if ya know them all now - where's the fun in that? Now all I gotta do is come up with a 'kitchy' name for this dash, hmm ... hit me with name ideas in #xboxdash
