XBOX-HQ.COM - Intec Introduces New Lineup of 2.4Ghz Wireless Video Game Accessories

Intec, Inc., the leading manufacturer of cross-platform video game accessories, today introduced its new lineup of 2.4Ghz wireless video game accessories. Intec, the first to market in 2003 with 2.4Ghz wireless controllers, will be adding mini controllers, racing wheels, and dance mats to its current roster of wireless 2.4Ghz accessories. Set to begin shipping in North America on August 16, 2004, Intec’s new products will offer users additional features and offerings that only an experienced leader in the video game accessories market can provide.

The new lineup includes:

1) 2.4Ghz Mini Wireless Controllers

Lightweight at only 9.6oz, Intec’s new mini wireless controllers are for players with small hands or for those who prefer precise game control in a smaller layout. Versions for the GameCube® (G5085 – MSRP $29.99), PlayStation® 2 (G7085 – MSRP $29.99), and Xbox™ (G8085 – MSRP $34.99) are available and each allows for play up to 30 ft. away from the console. The mini wireless controllers come with a Lifetime Warranty and offer users 70 hours of game time (using 2 AA Batteries), turbo function buttons for rapid fire, “gamer” designed analog sticks and digital directional pads for superior control, rubberized grips for comfort and tactile control, dual vibration motors with on & off vibration switches, auto connect for a simplified set up, a 3-position rumble switch to control the vibration feedback level and battery life, and auto-sensing technology that allows for up to 16 players to play without interference. Each mini wireless controller will go into a “sleep mode” after not being used for a period of 5 minutes (auto shut-off), which saves battery time, and each will “wake up” with the press of any action button, making it available for immediate use.

Specific features for the GameCube and PS2 controller include 8 analog action buttons and 2 analog sticks, while the Xbox version offers 6 analog buttons and 2 action triggers.

2) 2.4Ghz Wireless Racing Wheels

Intec’s new 2.4Ghz wireless racing wheels offer vibration feedback so users can really “feel” bumps, crashes, and more. Each version - one for PlayStation® 2 (G7094 – MSRP $69.99) and one for Xbox™ (G8094 – MSRP $79.99) - features digital, analog, and steering wheel modes, rubberized grips for maximum control, auto centering for improved handling on curves, and analog pedals for realistic acceleration and braking. Both offer pedals and shifting paddles, which have 2 settings to cover all racing game layouts, high, mid, and low vibration switches, and steering wheel turning sensitivity adjustment control is offered for each player’s preferred racing style. Both can be setup to play via a desktop or lap position due to the improved 250-degree wheel excursion.

3) 2.4Ghz Wireless Dance Mats

Intec 2.4Ghz wireless dance mats allow users to create a dance floor anywhere, anytime, up to 30 ft. away from the console. Versions for the PlayStation®/PlayStation® 2 (G6251 – MSRP $39.99) and Xbox™ (G8251 – MSRP $49.99) are available, and each works with today’s popular dance software and/or games made specifically for those systems. 4) 2.4Ghz Full-Sized ‘Lazer’ Wireless Controllers

For the second year in a row, Intec is offering full-sized 2.4Ghz wireless controllers that allow for play up to 30 ft. away from the console. Versions for the GameCube® (G5091 – MSRP $29.99), PlayStation® 2 (G7091 – MSRP $29.99), and Xbox™ (G8091 – MSRP $39.99) are available and come with a Lifetime Warranty. Each offer the same features as the new mini wireless controllers but in a full-size format suitable for all styles of game play. The new editions of the ‘Lazer’ wireless controllers operate on 2 AA batteries and no longer use rechargeable batteries and a charger, as did the 2003 versions.
