I can't help but feel sorry for all those guys with modded boxes who think their mod is only good for playing legal back up's.

Have you ever tried watching a DivX on your Xbox?
Well guys those of you who haven't should.
That great quality you receive on your little PC monitor gets translated into full screen almost DVD quality when you watch the same movie files using the Xbox.

There are many players and all of them have their good and bad ponts. My favourite player is YAMP (Yet Another Media Player).
With it you can control the screen very easily, each line independantly. ie Top, Bottom, left and right can be moved individually to exactly match your screen size or picture quality requirements.

YAMP has it's faults though, it's very slow to load initially, but that's no big deal and it just doesn't have the CODEC support that others do.

That's where XBMC comes in. XBox Media center is updated weekly and you can view just about every type of media with it, from JPG's to DivX.

Anyway the point of this short article is to let those who haven't yet tried their chip for this purpose to do so.
Connect your PC to your Xbox using FLASH FXP and upload only to F Disk on your Xbox... then launch your player when you boot your Xbox. It couldn't be simpler.

In fact some of the software for modded boxes is so damn good that there is no way Microsoft will not be copying the ideas for use in Xbox 2...

I can't finish without a word of thanx to all the coders who spend so much time making the great software that we all benefit from.

But remember guys a chip is a chip. Price doesn't count. Don't believe the hype. Buy what suits you.
