have a softmodded v1.6 xbox modded with mech assault the right one had unleashed the xbox starts get to xbox screen with micosoft under it then it stops help very new to this xbox was all ready modded when I got it from a friend I have the backup disc he had upgraded to a larger hd

So you dont get any sort of error codes or anything? All it does is hang on the MS start screen? Sorry, your wording is abit confusing. _________________

Was it soft modded with dule boot?

If your hdd was truly dead, you should get an error code. I believe it would be 7. _________________

had a code 7 before but now nothing try to ftp it nothing try to hot swap and saw nothing how can i put in a new hdd i have the backup disc from the hard drive

Oh thanx man.
Did you take the xbox apart right befor this started, it sounds like its doing the work and stops when you get to the point whare it reads from the hdd.
Check ide cables and jumper settings.

yes i did take it apart when this happen I think the jumper is alright but will check where should the jumper be set at slave /master /c/s or what I will also check the ide cable . and it is a 200gb hdd

I think you want xbox hdd set to master since its the onley one in the xbox.
