I'm about to perform the softmod to turn my Xbox into a media center using the Mechassault exploit. I don't have wired ethernet going into my room, so I was wondering if the Xbox wireless adapter (any brand) works with a softmodded Xbox while it's running in media center mode?

Softmodded or not it should.

Mine has a mod chip and i use my Microsoft Xbox Wireless adapter (official) and it works perfectly and very quickly in XBMC

It works just the same as if it were hooked up to a stock xbox. 100% of the time, the ethernet cable just relays 1's and 0's. Hense why you can FTP during a softmod. As long as the code is running support for SMB share or FTP, you're good to go. So, yes, it will work with XBMC (as a matter of fact, i'm getting one as well, then TSOPing my box to turn it into a DVDless media center (slimbox)).

Just agreeing with everyone. I have a couple running on soft-modded boxes and they run fine. I can stream huge video files no problem. Good luck!

Ok, I can't get my Microsoft WirelessG Adapter to connect using XBMC on a chipped box. I have it set to DHCP... any suggestions? tutorials?

Nevermind... I didn't use the install disk. Figured it wasn't needed, but it works now.

Thanks anyway!
