hey guys its been a while since my last post but i just recently decided to dust off the xbox and play a little, ive been meaning to ask this question for a while now but haven't had the time. ever since i installed aid 5.10 i believe on my hard modded xbox i noticed that on my xbmc dash i lost my images from my programs folders such as the "games" image "emulators etc...i have a hard modded Xbox with smartxx v3 chip inside. it used to work but since i upgraded it with aid i lost it. If i go into my games folder all my game images are there but im just missing the main images. im a little rusty on what information you need but any help would be great. Thanks, im also not sure w which aid i installed but i think its the 5.10 or something i may be wrong but if you can tell me where to 20find it ill let you know.

That would have been SID not AID you installed if it was 5.10, and actualy useless on a hardmod XBOX. Personaly I would recomend installing a new XBMC to fix the issue as the cause could be one of a number of things and Ive always believed in the direct and easy route.
Clicking is usualy a bad sign and a precursor to the HDD going poof. I would back up anything you want off it and be prepared for it to go to that big HDD farm in the sky.

I know its hardmodded, I was just going off your first post where you mentioned using AID5.10 which is why I thought you had tried to install SID on it since there was a SID5.10 but AID stopped at 4.53. If you want an up to date XBMC you should grab the latest from xbmc4xbox.org as the one in AID is around a year old

Id use either XBMC-App Installer, Emu Installer or XBMC Spoof Disc Xtreme to reinstall XBMC or else go to XBMC4XBOX.org and download 3.1 and FTP it to your XBOX

As SPPV said above, if your hard drive is clicking and causing your Xbox to freeze, then your hard drive is about to go out. You said it's new, so if you can you should try to return it and get a replacement, or possibly buy another one if you can't return it. You don't have to do this now, but I would recommend doing so that you don't go through all this trouble fixing your issue only to have the hard drive die and have you go through it all again.
Definitely also follow SPPV's advice for updating XBMC. The XBMC version on AID is older than dirt. _________________
