I've been looking up tutorials on the internet for hours and i'm just burnt out and can't do it any more. My problem is I used to use my X3 chip and xapt3r solderless adapter to upgrade hard drives in xboxes, but since the design for the xapt3r was cheap and the screw that held it in place stripped itself out after only two installations, and the screw that came with my second xapt3r doesn't even fit the stupid thing I can no longer use this method of upgrading. I need a quick and easy way to upgrade xbox hard drives without the use of a desktop pc, and preferably without having to search for hours for a bunch of software. I knew this guy a while ago who modded xboxes and i mentioned to him how i upgraded my xboxes he told me it was easier the way he did it by manipulating the eeproms on his laptop and ftping them back to the xbox. So i guess i'm looking for something like that. Thanks alot to any one with any information.

You could use `Chimp` to clone the original drive to a newer/larger one.

soft mod the xbox, install chimp, hook up the new drive in place of the DVD Rom, run chimp and clone the drive.

I had completely forgotten about that. Is Chimp on the AID? Or do you know of a place to find it?

And also i remember people saying you had to have your hardrive "jumpers set correctly" but am i correct in saying that the original xbox hard drive doesn't have jumpers? Mine don't any way. I know the replacement harddrive will so is it the only one i need to worry about?

I think you set them to cable select ..... possibly if theres no jumpers it just defaults to CS.

Just set to CS (Cable Select) and you should be fine mate.. Chimp will tell you of any probs if it can't read or clone your drive.. Just be sure you have your eeprom and other backup info on your pc safe.
