Actually it will sometimes if the HD is getting full, altough it was prolly a combo of the two causin it. I've only had it happen a few times and once I cleared the cache everything worked fine which is why I figured I'd suggest it. It prolly is the wireless connection though especially if you're a good distace from the router.
In that case i wold say the distace is the prob since a full cache will stop the xbox from launching info not downloading the info.

It was definitely a firewall issue. My posh firewall software was causing all the problems. I've downgraded to comodo firewall and now my network behaviour is entirely consistent! Oh and the network is all hard-wired (no wireless)...

Yeah. My fault for not checking the obvious...
On a related note. I'm getting 7mb ftping down to the xbox, but only 1mb coming back. This sound normal?

The NIC seems to be working okay (7mb is a minimum, I'm getting max 10/11ish). No complaints there. It's just the speed ftping from the xbox to the pc is consistently low. I'll go and fiddle again...
