For every new year comes new possibilities in the world of gaming. With major titles competing for the top spot when it comes to the very best of game releases of the year, there are a number of titles across multiple platforms for you to look forward to. Here, we are going to look at a few of the new titles set to be released in 2019.

Yoshi's Crafted World - Nintendo Switch
For all those that are lucky enough to be in possession of a Nintendo Switch, there is plenty to be excited about in 2019. Hot off the release of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, we now have the release of another Yoshi stand-alone title entitled Yoshi's Crafted World. This game is set for release on the 29th of March 2019 and features all your beloved characters from the franchise, except for your two favourite Italian plumbers, of course. You will travel this world in search of stones to piece together, giving the game a fairly light storyline still worth playing, all whilst giving it that creative element that we all came to love back with Yoshi Woolly World.

FIFA 20 - To Be Announced
Although EA (Electronic Arts) are always very secretive around every detail of the year's brand-new title, there are a number of people on the internet looking for answers when it comes to the next release in the FIFA series. In the past, this leading football game has graced the shelves and online stores towards the end of the year in time for the Christmas period, but with millions of players still buzzing off of the hype from FIFA 19, it's already hotly anticipated.
In addition to the overall gameplay, there are also a number of elements such as the in-game packs that bring this game above the likes of PES. With packs allowing you to get some of the best players in the game and regular team-of-the-season events, a number of players spend a large amount of money on in-game purchases to be the best of the best, making this one of the biggest grossing releases of the year. This part of the game is one of the things that makes this title great, as the thrill of the game comes down to FIFA's use of gambling tactics to offer players the chance to play and win fairly. This is most commonly in the form of Fifa points being bought allowing the user to pack the best players in the game.
Although this may seem like some harmless fun for fans of the game, this has been compared to a similar tactic that is used in many casinos and popular casino games such as blackjack and poker. This is due to the thrill of the game and the idea of a win (that may involve actual cash) keeping the user playing for extended periods of time. This is important to the overall game mechanic of Fifa as this "unboxing experience" is also seen in other popular titles such as Fortnite, Battlefront two and the highly popular game Fallout. This particular game mechanic has also been in the news in recent years due to being linked with a sudden increase in young gamblers although this has not been proven to be completely true.

The Last Of Us 2 - PS4
Following the success of the original title, The Last Of Us Part II is set to make a large impact on the gaming industry following its release. Although we are yet to hear the official release date, there was a teaser trailer dropped at PlayStation Experience in 2016 and 2017. However, since then it has all been very hush hush. Fans of the game were expecting a hint of information regarding the release at E3 in 2018, however, fans of the franchise heard no word surrounding the release, leaving fans to question when this highly anticipated title will appear in the PlayStation Store. A number of people fell in love with the story that The Last Of Us told, allowing them to become fully immersed in the world they are playing in. This is just a small part of what has led this title to become one of the most highly anticipated on the platform.

Jedi: Fallen Order - PS4, Xbox One and PC
Following the release of Star Wars Battlefront 2, we saw some scrutiny around the number of in-game purchases that are required through loot crates. Now, the new year is set to see the release of Jedi: Fallen Order, yet another game from the Star Wars franchise, and players are eager to see what it will bring.
What do we know about this game so far? Well, EA has announced that this game is set to release in autumn of 2019, and it has been suggested that the storyline for this title will take place after Episode III: Revenge Of The Sith. Although this point has not been either confirmed or denied by EA at this current moment, this has got fans of the franchise thinking of a number of different scenarios. The official Star Wars website has announced that this title will be single-player only, closing this title off to those looking for a brand-new multiplayer experience.
So whatever title you decide to opt for in 2019, you are spoiled for choice, with big releases coming out throughout the rest of the year and beyond. Which one will you choose to try out first?"
