Basically, what DJB has put on his AID disk is the best and most stable versions of each emu out there. I've done some digging around as well, and now it's a rare thing that these emu's are updated even less with the jtag hack for the 360. Most are re-porting them that way.Basically, what DJB has put on his AID disk is the best and most stable versions of each emu out there. User1 is correct in this post and in order to update XBMC and keep your settings and user-data you can use the steps in the update guide found under my sig.

As for the skin/random-play problem, that's in the skin and you would need to report that to the guy that made the skin or to XBMC.org :wink:User1 is correct in this post and in order to update XBMC and keep your settings and user-data you can use the steps in the update guide found under my sig.

I never seen that before, but if you look at the path, f: drive is listed twice. I makes me think that it is being associated through xbmc when saving files. I might have something to do with the virtual drive, and that is why the f: directory is listed twice and other files are in other directories.
I would have thought the virtual would have a drive letter to itself, like Q:I never seen that before, but if you look at the path, f: drive is listed twice. which chip are you using, the gold, or the white one, just wondering as I have the white model and using m8.
And which version of xbox, if it's pre v1.6 you should have flashed with this one off the aid disk
evox.m8plus.fc.137.bin
That bios allows for the larger harddrives and I think it may have other things you might be able to use.
If you are going for the x2 bios then this is the one you want, but not for the v1.6
x2.4981.67.fc.ef.bin
fc is the larger harddrive, and ef is eject fix. I found it to work better on that chip, but personal option.which chip are you using, the gold, or the white one, just wondering as I have the white model and using m8.

Thanks for simplifying the process dude! Ok so I will give this all a go shortly. Unfortunately it will have to wait until I can afford to donate and get access to the downloads which will be a week monday and I need to buy a memory stick too. The only thing I am unclear on from here is using the xplorer 360 program but I'm sure it won't be too complicated. Anyway I will holler if i get stuck. Thanks again guys

yup its as easy as that.. If you can't get AID to boot from DVD-R it may be because your DVDROM drive doesn't like that brand of media.

Try burning to another brand and then boot again in your xbox.[quote:273aa0359c=&quot;wes213&quot;]Just burn the ISO to a DVD -R and pop it in, if the xbox is modded then it should boot fine.[/quote:273aa0359c]

I'm pretty sure that you can't play games from your harddrive in ISO mode.

As for quitting the game, try pressing L, R, Back, and Start at the same time.

I am also wondering if there is a way to turn on the xbox from far away.I'm pretty sure that you can't play games from your harddrive in ISO mode.

<title>Modchip installed, BIOS running, now what? </title>
<description>Viewed: 622 times | Replies: 8
Forum: Newbie Central

@ mseriously,

I don't waste my time with any other dashboard rather then XBMC.. It's by far the best.. Sure the other dashboards may have a few little tiny features that XBMC doesn't but people always can add-on their own stuff using python scripts etc..

If you get XBMC installed just install all the other dashboards as a application for now till you get used to how it works. :)

Also, with your x3, you should check to see where the bios is looking first.. example c:\default.xbe then e:\default.xbe et cetc..

IF AIDELUXE does NOT boot then i always try another brand of media..
eg. verbatim, tdk, whatever.

there are so many bios variants out there..

enjoy the site,

All sorted, but couldn't install unleash x as softmod it just froze only evoX was working. When FTPin to EvoX was very slow, just booted into softmod menu and FTP'd that way, wprked fine then.

managed to get unleashX as my dash by first installing evoX and then launching a recovery file, not sure how i manged it but now have unleashX as my dash and XBMC working fine restored from a backup off my other XBOX. Happy days!

May have a play wth installing differnt dashes to see which one I like now.

Future post will prob be under softmod or unleashX EvoX forums I imagine

Forum: XBMC Installer Deluxe Discussions

So I emptied the xbox hd again and installed SID 5.1 with a
Single Boot Softmod 'Standard' and a UnleashX Dashboard, that is much cooler
than the EvolutionX.
As adviced on another site I downloaded XBMC-2.0.1-FINAL-FAT-T3CH.rar
and copied the XBMC folder of this package into the location
E:\Apps
Even though the directory Apps did not exist , after creating an copying , starting the xbox it recognized the new installed application.
Things can be really easy .

p.s. emptying an xbox hd means :get the floppy with the eeprom.bin and use a prog to unlock the hdd and build the xbox hdd (like the factory original) an lock it again. So I emptied the xbox hd again and installed SID 5.1 with a

hello....

i honestly dunno what dashbord this unit is running on,, tried all possible passwords buttons(alpha or numeric keys did not appear) nothing happens, i guess it is running on personalized evox hehehe and it is in softmod as there was no modchip inside and iam also impressed with its settings as it was simple, child friendly and amazingly complete in setups i mean even its 300+ mp3 has album or artist logos and titles also with the movies and games, it is so simple that when i turn it on after the xbox logo only 5 menu item appears (with a nice background skin and only one background song, i guess its a personalized theme also, wonder how its done ) .. games, mp3, music videos, movies and appz. (appz which i cannot access requires a password i guess,, as i pressed all buttons nothing happens i guess its a button password) its so precise to simplicity and security as i cannot erase any file on it, and it even stops playing movies or mp3 when the controller is unplugged but resumes again when controller is plugged in again... i am so amazed (and envious) on how did the previous owner did all this modification. i guess it not running on xbmc as i noticed no xbmc files on it i have seen all the files via ai deluxe via ftp but im afraid to touch anything as i might ruin settings on it and mess it up i just wanna know the password or where i could find it so i can access the appz button so i can learn how did the previous owner ( whom i don't know, as i just bought it on a thrift shop) (please let me know, if ever i need to attach any file from this unit so we could dissect how this unit ticks hehehehe)

thanks and best wishes

Forum: SoftMod Installer Deluxe Discussions

Since necessity is the mother of invention I banged away on my Xbox yesterday and got it back to a semi-known state.

I used the Knave 6.6.6 exploit for Mech Assault to &quot;Run Linux&quot; and replace the Dash. After several tries and a few restarts I was able to undo the SoftMod and get back to &quot;factory fresh&quot;.

Now I just have to figure out how to get from SID 5.1 USB w/ XBMC 9.04 to XBMCID 1.2 w/ XBMC 9.11 and Confluence....

I am going on vacation tomorrow and won't be working on it for a week, but hopefully some easy advice will be forthcoming in my absence.Since necessity is the mother of invention I banged away on my Xbox yesterday and got it back to a semi-known state.

Yes, you can do this with a modchip no probs.. You may not even need to unlock the hdd, sometimes i have to sometimes i don't.. I would stick the drive into your modchipped xbox and then use AIDELUXE to reinstall a softmod and softmod dash.

There are plenty of other methods of getting it working again too but since you have a modchip it may save the day for you both.Yes, you can do this with a modchip no probs..
