It's great you have these checks during the process.
Sometimes people don't read the fine print and make sure everything is kosher. Now you know how Apple trains its programmers
Make it easy for the non-initiated!
I know you hate getting questions from people who sometimes miss those critical steps (like me he he), but it's definitely going to save you time and effort down the road.
But obviously that's why you did it. Looking good!

Thats 99% of the program. I didnt get a chance to write up a bunch of tut docs for it, but these will be out soon and can be added very easily. I also did not include the Babylon1 PC Compiler tut video as it would have pushed the ISO past the 4.37GB limit. An HD video will be released shortly and you simply pop it in the Support folder.
Once those are completed an official release announcement will be made.
I also plan on releasing a stand alone 8MB (mem card) save to be used seperately for your basic softmods with the new exploits.

i do have question about xboxhdm can i hook any ide drive up and build one from scratch? or is that a way of taking a stcok xbox hdd and hooking it up and turning it into softmodded one?
sorry if this a dumb question im just not familiar with the program or method.. _________________ if you dont have what you want,,mod what you got!!

You can do both. Either use the included CXBOX-Tools and extract the ISO to the root of your PCs C drive and hit the Babylon1.exe and it will make you an XBOXHDM disc that will be pretty much identical to The Works install, and use that to build a new HDD from scratch. Or hook the new HDD up as Master and the old one as Slave then pick clone in the XBOXHDM menu and it will do a byte for byte for byte copy from the old HDD to the new one. Mind you cloneing is very slow.

^^ if you DON'T have the EEPROM from that console, then there's one way! (besides an eeprom reader, hardmod or TSOP flash) have a working replacement hdd to hand then...
if you're feeling confident in yourself combined with the feeling you have nothing to lose, try this, but i warn you, it's NOT for the light hearted!
...............
hotswap.mp4 (courtesy of SPPV...again!)
...........
all the best!
(i can't see why babylon won't work here if you're able to pull it off)
..........
[edit]
i was only able to get a successful hotswap ONCE out of all the times attempted!
the failures resulted in DESTROYED hdd's! (i gave the consoles away when it was impossible for me to retrieve the EEPROMS from them)
your choice but i accept NO responsibility for ANY damages/personal injury incurred! _________________ to all my friends... farewell and all the best to future prosperity... and remember, be excellent to each other!

^^ anything you have the eeprom for, you're safe to do things the usual way...(and i'm NOT gonna recommend the use of CHIMP either, use the autobuilder that comes with BABYLON to create the xbhdm computer disk)
HOWEVER, for anything else, look to my previous response, there's the pointer as a video clip! (and what i've written but i'm NO expert in hardmods/TSOP/eeprom readers for the xbox)
.....
good luck! _________________ to all my friends... farewell and all the best to future prosperity... and remember, be excellent to each other!

You cant hotswap it. Hotswap requires the XBOX unlocks the HDD. If the XBOX is fucked it obviously cant unlock it. If its a brand new HDD again obviously the xbox cant unlock it. Hotswp only works with software errors not hardware failure.
For eeprom pop in Babylon hit backup eeprom then hit move eeprom to E. You will now find the eeprom at E\Backup

^^ eh?
then what's the point of hotswap?
.....
if a hdd was from another xbox (locked to it) how can it be unlocked if there's no eeprom for it? (i've tried it and was unsuccessful)
...........
if the hdd was new and rebuilt with xbhdm with no eeprom and NOT locked to any xbox, then what have i just said above?
........
i only got it to work once and by the sounds of it, i got lucky because i did it completely wrong every other time...
.....
i think i've missed something here...

The point of hotswap is mod an xbox without using a memory card or to fix severe software errors in the case of no eeprom. An XBOX will only lock an HDD that it unlocked so if its a blank drive you just built obviously the xbox didnt unlock it so it wont lock it. It will just kick you an E6 in such a situation. And obviously TSOP will not work in this situation either since to TSOP an XBOX you first are required to softmod it. In this instance a chip or an eeprom reader are the only option.
Hotswap for error fixing is for things like if you were dumbass and wiped the C drive then turned off the XBOX etc. But if your MOBO is fried or the HDD is dead then hotswap does not apply.

^^ got it!
.
the TSOP bit (i've not used one) i thought it could be used on the fly, a chip overlay that programs the bios directly? (i've heard mention of actual programs for the xbox itself but i can't confirm it, would be nice though so i could do away with all the eeprom/lock/unlock madness)
something to be said for a hardmod, seriously, the prospect grows on me each day, the "on the fly" replacement of a hdd just seems like the best option for somebody with a LACK of guts (and patience when i've messed something up)
if only shambles1980 spoke to me, i'd ask him for a hardmod preinstall!
....
anyway, thanks for clearing it up!
i'll avoid the subject "hotswap" especially if it gets mentioned...(monkey blind, monkey no see)
the age must be creeping up on me... _________________ to all my friends... farewell and all the best to future prosperity... and remember, be excellent to each other!
