my box is gaining dust, but I still wasn't successful modding it.
Anyone still has an advice?

If you can boot a burned game then you have a modded xbox, you need to install a BIOS on the chip if you have not already.
From there you can use the A.I.D. one click chip install with the dash of your choice, if you used a X3 chip BIOS then boot the xbox holding the white button and point the BIOS to the dash XBE file and you should be good to go.

not sure if I did so - I just followed the tutorial and the videos for the AID as adviced here in the thread by you guys...

OK, I was able to replicate the error.
Using the MA exploit, I was able to get the error 21 after the instructed reboot. I restarted with MA in the drive and selected "run linux" again. What happened next was that the install process completed. I didn't start for the beginning. The xbox booted to the EVox dash. I was able to load AID and change the dash to xbmc.

Just to let you guys know the end of the story
I was told Ndure is easier to perform, so I tried and succeeded.
Still don't know what went wrong with AID, but now I'm happy.
