Hi folks,

I did a Splinter Cell softmod which worked out fine. After that I played around with it for a while and removed the softmod. Then I thought about doing a softmod again but this time with AID 3.0. Well I must have pressed the wrong buttons and ended up with error 13/14 after a successful install of the softmod and a reboot. I wasn't able to reinstall the softmod as Splinter Cell couldn't find the softmod on my hdd any more. As I was busy this and the following days I didn't hotswap immediately and left my xbox unplugged for a couple of days. Now I only get error 16 and I am absolutely clueless what to do....

Which software do I need to make a successful hotswap and full recover of my retail box? Is hotswap the appropriate method or should I do something else, e.g. send my box to some guy to chip it? I don't really want to spend much money on this and I hope that I can fix this situation pretty cheap... Smile

Thx for your help!

So you're saying that even though you can boot from the game disc, that the savefile is missing? Not sure what to tell you there. Maybe pirrup can help you out more, since he's the hotswap king. Just keep in mind of the inherent dangers of hotswapping, since it's something you wouldn't want to do unless it's a last ditch effort and there's no access to a modchipped box.

Did you happen to record the HD Password?

If so you can take a less aggressive approach by using XBHdm. If not then you should learn the lesson to print/write and check every time you get a HD password (ie. switch drives, machines, whatever) - If you lock a drive know the password to unlock it later.

ps. - if you need to get XboxHDM it can be found easily by googleing for it....

like maybe google for "xboxhdm ver 1.7 (current version 1.9)" and you might perhaps find a link near that text that "downloads" version 1.9 - but that would be really lucky for you and I have no idea if it's true! Smile

Thx kilroy and gumba for your help!

Well accidentally I did not record any pw whatsoever and when I got error 13/14 I was only able to insert retail discs but none of my hdd savegames where to be found by neither game. I guess I must have formatted the hdd by mistake.... I already got myself xboxhdm but where do I got an image of a working ms dash so to be able to work with the box or to perform the softmod again?

If anybody else has got a clue what should be done in my situation your help is greatly appreciated!

Thx

For the dash look under Pirrup's sig on:

Also - AID2.11 should have everything you need dash-wise as well.
