Glad to see you're navigating around your xbox and discovering new functions.
You know, I never really got into finding out what version xbox I have. However, there are so many different ways that people tell you to look. I can never find any consistency between them all. I wish it was just as easy as plugging in your serial number and 'poof' you get a version.
Some places claim, but it's bunk. I have two Halo Se xbox's that are both manufactured in Feb 2004. I popped the serials in on the one site and it came back that I had a 1.1 and a 1.2...wtf?
My only concern was that I didn't have a 1.6, since nobody has chipped that version yet. They are still in the box since I haven't gotten around to doing anything with them yet. My wife keeps rubbing it in that I have 340.00 worth of consoles just sitting in my office. Women are good for that. That's when I remind her that she has a $500.00 treadmill that she HAD TO HAVE that's just currently holding blouses. I think I am just gonna send one of them to asmunch and let him install a Xecuter 2.3 chip. I am using a Xenium and I want to check out the other chips. I think I may go with a solderless in the other just to see how it goes. I'll probably do that one myself.

hey Soarer and RealMccloy,
Seems your really getting into it Soarer which is great.. Wont be long and youll be helping others..
Has anyone watched the movie.. PAY IT FORWARD??
Thats the way i want to promote XBOX-HQ... Our members will help you, and all you have to do in return is HELP OTHERS.. (pay it forward)..
I like that idea..
Anyway, Soarer like realmccloy mentioned there are so many ways to tell which xbox version you are running but really you dont need to know..
It was only when certain modchips only worked on CERTAIN XBOXES..
If you really want to find out without too much trouble i would suggest this.
1. DOWNLOAD MEDIAXMENU
2. DOWNLOAD THE "its all about choice" (matrix) skin for MEDIAXMENU.
3. Install it as a APPLICATION
4. Reboot your xbox and then RUN MEDIAXMENU
5. Change the default skin to MATRIX SKIN.
6. IT will probably ask for a reboot so reboot..
7. When you load mediaxMENU next time it will show the MATRIX STARTUP.
8. Now wait and read the ORANGE TEXT once the MAIN MENU (like evox) comes up.. It will show you what XBOX VERSION YOU HAVE in the SCROLLING (flashing) text.
