I picked up a used (but original) copy of these two games one on disc. I have a modded XBox that I just got from a coworker and tried to boot this disk with the unit. I got an error saying it was trying to update my XBox Live something-or-other.

I do not have the XBox connected to a network and do not want to play these games online. Nothing on the case says that these have to be played on-line, just that they are enabled for it.

Anyone know how I can get past this? If it matters, I have a version 1.0 of the XBox, Xecuter2 chip and Evox 2.6 dashboard.

Thanks

Try using dvd2xbox and bring the game over to the hdd. It'll play better anyway. Also, to avoid that kind of update crap, I allow the dash to boot first then select the game from the dash, rather than allow an autoboot via the DVD.

P.S. We absolutely MUST find you a riddler avatar... hahaha

Copying to the HD doesn't work...
I just tried it with my evoX modded xbox (v1) and it hangs on startup as well. I hate this MSFT crap... this is why i'm buying a Wii instead of a 360 and why i've given away all my PCs in favor of mac and linux...

try clearing your e/cache file you might find that might work, and also, macs are prone to breaking, I know some one on the inside, made cheaply and over priced. The os is the only good part, which you can run on a pc and macs run Unix code not linux. But at least Apple replaces the pcs after the 3rd malfunction of the same part.
