I've just got a 2nd xbox from ebay and it has a chip soldered on inside with some wires going to various parts of the motherboard, dosen't seem to do much, and also when turning the xbox off or on,there's a tiny glimpse of red then the normal green, could it be the chip and can i snip the wires to totally disable,i've soft modded the xbox now.

I would becareful incase the Modchip is acting as another TSOP.
You are able to flash the MS bios to it and still have it retail. You just have an extra hardware attchment. But when you flash it with a hacked bios, then its a mod chip.
So try to find out if it is acting as another TSOP _________________ XBOX v1.6

It's some funky aladdin. It's not the same chip as Sunday. Some of those has a hacked bios that wasn't color modified so maybe try loading a dash.

I had used the auto installer to softmod this.Taken it off now,and the xbox dosen't load any dvdr's anymore. The light does still flash red or orange quickly when turning off or on still.I take it the chip's causing this,so how can i use it now or just disable the thing and use a softmod?
Don't know what to do with it now, supposed to be selling to a friend who wants a cheap xbox, just don't want it to go wrong!
Thanks
