Ok, here's the deal. I was trying to softmod my box. While trying to get the msdash working alongside, I accidently over-wrote my MS Backup. Since I did that, when I try restoring, the MS Dash does not work. I can boot original discs, and re-install the softmod.
Is there any way to fix the box and bring the HDD back to a factory setting without having my original backup (since I accidently overwrote it)
I have another, unmodded, 1.6b xbox here if that will help.

For anyone having a similar problem, I used Slayers EvoX Auto Installer to retore the HDD and install MS Dash 5960. Then I used the softmod installer again, patched the dash, and then installed evo-x. Everything is working 100 percent now. Ill make sure not to overwrite the backup this time...

don't use slayers its old , here at xbox-hq we have AID2
Maybe I wasn't looking hard enough, but where is the option to rebuild the HDD in AID2?
If you google for Slayer's EvoX Installer disc, you'll find it. Thats all it took me. I don't know if it's against the rules here to link to it so I'm not going to, but a quick google search will turn up what your looking for.
Make sure you read ALL of the documentation first, and don't play around with stuff your not absolutely sure of. Also make sure you don't pick the wrong option in the menu (READ CAREFULLY! DOUBLE CHECK YOU SELECTED THE CORRECT OPTION BEFORE YOU COMMIT TO THE CHANGES!)
This disc can be your savior or your worst nightmare. The disc WILL allow you to COMPLETELY hose your xbox and the only way you'll be able to fix it afterwards if you screw it up is with a hardware modchip (and even then it can be a real bitch I hear)
The guy above says not to use Slayer's disc, however it worked fine for me. You might want to listen to him, he probably knows more about this stuff than I do. I just got lucky If it's possible to rebuild the HDD to a stock like condition with AID2, then I suggest you use that. Again, READ THE DOCUMENTATION. Don't be a moron.
That said, it's fairly straight forward with the Slayer disc (and I assume with the AID2 disc as well) as long as you select the correct menu options. Again, read the documentation to figure out what you need. And pray you don't have a power failure of some kind while your rebuilding the HDD.
Also, this fix will only work if you can still boot a copied disc. So hopefully the softmod is still on there (it will get erased after the rebuild and you'll have to reinstall it if you want it)
That should be enough information to get you going. Download the discs and start reading the docs to figure out which setup/menu option you need (most likely stock HDD option if you have not installed a larger one).
The docs are fairly good so I'm not going to hold your hand through this. If your capable if reading then you should be OK. Just download AID2 here or find the Slayer disc that I used. If your not capable of reading docs, well, then you shouldn't be trying to mod your box anyways.
Good luck. And if you fuxor up your box using these tools, I take zero responsibility.
