If you were going to start a brand new harddrive what version of the dashboard would you use? I am not sure what the newest version is of each. It is kind of confusing with auto installers, evox and such. Thanks

OK..
EvolutionX (or Evox) is the most simple and standard hacked dashboard for the Xbox. There are many others, but they require more complicated configuration.
If you have a brand new hdd, I suggest grabbing the Xbox-Hq Evox Auto-Installer v1.1 (just released a day ago). It's fully up-to-date with everything you need.
Hope that helps...

I agree with DJB, I would go with Xbox-Hq Evox Auto-Installer v1.1 and install evox for your first time. As you get more comfortable with it you can try other dashboards and see if you like them better. _________________ XBOX v1.0:

i agree with the guys comments..
To install A LARGER HDD or any HDD into your xbox do this.
1. Open you xbox
2. Change the HDD's and insert your new XBOX HDD
3. Burn Xbox-Hq Auto Installer to a CDRW/DVD-R
4. Boot it in your xbox
5. When it boots you will have a main menu.
6. Choose 'Format/partition/ new hard drive'
7. Then choose 'ok.
8. It will now format and partition your new XBOX HDD ready to go.
9. Now if you have chosen the right option you should be able to eject the auto installer disk and reboot your xbox.
10. Your xbox will now boot to EVOX (if you selected to install evox from the main menu) or it will boot to the Retail M$ Dashboard (if you selected to only install the Retail Dashboard M$)
hope that helps..
Youll be right.. The autoinstaller can fix an existing XBOX HDD or a brand new one..

Thank you very much for the answers to my question. As always the members of this site are very quick to answer and help a fellow xbox user. I just have one more question though. I tried to download the file that you suggested and it says the link is down for a whaile. Any ideas why or where else that I can get it. Thanks.

DJB will answer that one. He found a bug that he needs to take care of real quick, but he will get it back asap. There are other autoinstallers out there, like Slayers, but wait till you hear from DJB before trying the others... _________________ Good Deals: Death@Hand, funkydopenloven, StaticMind, Slamscaper, PorscheXboxter
