Is anyone aware of a way to modify a softmoded xbox (boots to evolutionX 3935 which support F: G:) without having access to a mod chip?
I believe I can do a TSOP flash but that feels like cheating since I'm trying to keep the whole operation solder free.
Can XBTool or EVtool mod whatever 'bios' I'm booting... sorry to sound like such a Noob but I've got myself quite confused... :) At least I've got the larger drive up and running. I just can't see past 137Gig.
If I missed something in the various tutorials I aplogize in advance. :)
Thanks....

Yes the LBA48 hack can be easily applied to a softmodded box. It can be done one of two ways:
1) My SID 2 exploit uses a BFM version of the Evox M8 Plus BIOS, whish is stored at C:\SID\closed.bin. I'm pretty sure I enabled the LBA48 on it though, but by any chance that I didn't, just grab a BFM Version of EVtool (very important that it's a BFM version of it otherwise it won't work) and just modify the closed.bin file.
2) My SID 3 package already has the LBA48 support included, where F drive takes up to 136gb and G takes the rest.
Hope this puts you on the right track...

Worked like a charm!!! If I can only make XBMC play VOB files again I'll have everything exactly how I want it!
Thanks for putting SID3 together!

Hehe we all wish that XBMC had proper DVD support (hint hint XBMC developers lol) so unfortunately you'd have to use DVD-X instead for your DVD playback.

Got it sorted.... I had to clear my cache, XYZ and .db's from XBMC to get it seeing straight again after the upgrade.
I'd love if the XBMC guys would finish up DVD menu's but for now since all my DVD's are on an SMB share I just play the VOB fileset. Occasionally I need to hand pick the ifo file but usually it works like a charm.
Thanks again for you help! It's also really nice to have a MS dashback to set widescreen, etc. in a way that 'works'.
