I have been having this problem for the longest while and i know it would probably be easier to get a modchip installed but at the same time i want to actually learn the softmod method of the hacks... I have used several different save files to soft mod my Xbox and all have come up unsucessful (Ido have the original MechAssault and NOT THE PLATINUM)... I have even gone so far as to try it on 2 other Xbox systems to be left with the same issue... i have (Kernel 4034) with (Dashboard 5960) currently on my Xbox....(the other Xboxes were fairly new, one from christmas that just past, and the other from the christmas of 2003) i dont know what else to do and if its any help to who ever reads this i have an Action Replay that i had bout last year in 2004 so i dont know the version of the software but it seems to work juss fine....the list of files i have used r... Lttols 1.7.5 , Ltools_MA_v1.8rc1 , MechAssaultWithEvox, Ltools_MA_1.7, (all supplied by "the usual place")and the list goes on..... ill spare u..... for the most part I either get the Error 21 Msg or i get a black screen with either an orange Led on my Xbox or juss a black screen with the solid green lit LED.... Im at wits end and i wud really like to get this to work like so many others on this site so that i may actually be able to recomend this to friends and family....I have tried even modifying files like many instructions on http://www.xbox-scene.com and other sites...(I have seen many related topics like this one but not one of them could solve my issue).... nothing gets past getting the game saves onto the Xbox.... The idea of it being an issue with the Action Replay i wud say is highly unlikely because it has ran the minimal Linux system a long time ago b4 i had actually activated Xbox Live... i used Restore Dashboard and returned it juss incase i didnt mention that b4 i activated my live account.... well if anyone at all can help me with my little dilema your help would greatly be appreciated as i know this will push you guys to wits end as well.... In that case what do u suggest i do because i do not know anyone else with the files and i currently dont own another memory card...wut other alternative of transferring the files wud u suggest? (well the easiest way ne way)

the memory card is the easy way ,

o i got the installer working but now i backed up the retail HDD... and the Dash but thing is now once i rebooted my Xbox i kep getting ERROR 13 and my FlashFXP wont FTP into the Xbox to move the game save file to the Xbox again so now i unno wut 2 do

now u should prabably buy a chip ,
if the msdash is damaged and u cant boot the softmod then the only way to restore the backup of the dash is to hotswap the HDD , _________________ Xbox v1.0/1.1/1.5/1.6a
