Hey all! I am trying to find a way to say thanks to all of the people who have donated and have become VIPs here on this site. Even though I am only an admin here, I have to say that this community is a large part of my life. I spend more time on this site than I do my own....that is for sure. Hell, I spend more time on this site on a daily basis than I do sleeping...lol.
So, I know how everyone likes the eject board mod...having your eject light being blue, red, uv, or anyother color is rather cool. So, what I am going to do for the rest of the month is this.
Anyone who sends me a working eject board and the return shipping I will go ahead and mod it for you for free
I will supply the LEDs. I have the following colors:
Blue
Red
UV
Orange
Green (yes, I know the stock one is green but the MS green doesn't match your green controller ports or jewel ring, now does it )
White
Pink
What I will do is reuse the box/bubble envelope that you supply and ship it back via priority mail. So, all you have to do is make a $4.00 payment to my paypal account (3.85 plus misc paypal fees) and I'll do the dirty deed for you.
If you want me to use two different color LEDs then I'll do that too. I have had some ebay people have me do half blue and half red.... have no idea what it looked like, but he loved it.
If you want an error color, then I'll do that too, but you will be required to notch out a little area on the back of the case front. I'll make a tutorial and have extensive pics to show you. You need a dremel or file of some sort to do this. Dremel or other cutting tool preferred. Reason is, I have to line up two LEDs side by side and two 3mm LEDs are fatter than the stock three legged LED MS uses. It doesn't fit against the case front the same and you could break an LED by jamming it in.
So, if you wanted white, with blue error. Or Blue with Red error, or Red with Green error, then that is possible.
So...just let me know it's coming. I'll give anyone the info that they need.
All mods will go out the same day I get them!! This will miniumize your down time. Or, if you prefer you can buy a eject board somewhere and have it drop shipped to me. Then, I'll mod it and send it to you. You make the swap and I'll even buy the one you take out off of you if you wish to sell.
homemakersden on Ebay sells the eject boards for 5.00 plus 3.00 shipping. That is not too bad.
Anyway, send me your eject boards VIPs...and I'll get'em glowing whatever color you want.

Wow dude, thats pretty cool!
I might not partake because in my mod I am thinking about cutting a new PCB for it. I just Got the CAD program to help me design the PCB. Anyway more on that as it develops.

I havent even tried tallying up how many vip members we have now since the release of AID!! Thats when things started really picking up and the site was recognised worldwide finally (after 2 years).. he
great deal themodgod.. And your not wrong about the hrs spent on HQ.. I must agree.. Every 2nd night i go without sleep just to keep everything running smooth and normally would have to start work at 8am-9am.... Ive been working on tonnes of other projects with other websites too..
i'd send in my front panel but i'd be xbox less for that time

Well, if you sent it to me priority mail I would have it in about 2 days. I only need the PCB.
Or, if you want cuz I'd hate for you to be without your stuff that long, maybe what I can do is ship you one that I have here, I'll put whatever color LEDs you want and then you can ship me yours back.
Still the same cost. $4.00 and that is not profit. It costs $3.85 for the priority mail. Plus I lose a little bit of paypal fees, not much with 4 bucks.
But, this will get you the color you want, and then only be without your machine for the ten minutes it takes you to swap out PCBs. Then, when I get yours back, I can do the same for someone else and we can just have this vicious cycle going

Also, remember that if you want an error color, you have to notch out a little area on the back of the case front. This is because what I do is put two LEDs (3mm) side by side. I just used my wire cutters to cut it away, but I have also used a dremel. You could use the cutters and then a smaller knife or file to smooth it out. Only takes a minute to do. See the before and after pics to understand what I mean.
