Hi,

if your movies have a .avi extension then normally your files will be encoded in:
SMR (poor quality), XVID, Divx 3.0, DIVX 4-5.0 or just uncompressed.

Download and install a codec pack off the internet.. I cant think of the name of one of them right now but they will have every codec ever need in the ONE INSTALL.. I think its around 20mb or so though.

Codecs packs will make it easy and support nearly all video and audio formats.

sorry i couldnt be of more help

get G-spot, it will tell you what video aswell as audio codecs you need. and by the way the less codecs you have on your pc the better, because if you have to many they can "compete" to play the file and will pretty much screw everything up. people that do alot of this stuff have told me to never use codec packs either (with the exception of the Matroska, for playing .mvk files)

download G-spot HERE

I dowloaded g-spot (such a kewl program) and checked out what codecs I needed for each of my movies and it seems that the movie that was working is the same codec as others that are working so I guess its just a corrupted file.

Thanks for all the help I'm sure it would of taken me alot lot longer without that program.
