1. Recently i was trying to hotswap xboxhmd and ude into my xbox so i didnt need a chip, and i dont have AR or anything like that. Basically i messed up big time, due to the cd i was using not booting up. My hard drive is shot, i am getting the "christmas light" affect, meaning the eject button's led is blinking red and green. I could leave my xbox on for hours and all it will do is blink, to title scrren, no flubber. I didnt save my xbox hard drive because i havent connected my wireless network with my xbox. So i have no back, and no hard drive. Is there any way, via hotswapping, to reformat and fix my hard drive?
If not....
2 is there any way i can take an old pc's hard drive and hook it into my xbox, so i have a brand new hard drive? if so how do i go about doing this and how do i clean out my old pc's hard drive.

Thanks

Being that the hard drive seems gone, and you don't have a backup of your eeprom, the only thing you really can do is buy and install a chip, or have someone else to do so for you if you don't feel confortable. This is the main reason hotswapping isn't normally recommended as the best solution. Once you get your chip, you can use that hard drive, as long as it's about 10gb or so, you should have no problems.

thanks for replying,
so you are saying that if i get a chip, i can use my a pc harddrive?
if so thats good.

Is there no file or downloadable program that can act as like a recovery disc for a computer? i know its suppose to be the eeprom however, i would think that you could take another xbox's eeprom and boot it on your own as like a master recover...is that possible?

thanks
