Hey Everyone (Especially ModGod)
I recently installed a Jewel LED kit provided to my by ModGod. I got everything I needed and went to town. I bought some stuff that I thought would work better than Paint Thinner (cause it said it did) but it didn't do jack crap cause I looked at the label a little bit closer and noticed that it's for removing paint off brushes, etc. So I still have to get my jewel clear, but other than that, everything is installed and working great.
My only beef is that the front of my case won't go down evenly and match up where it's supposed to be. Did I put it in wrong or is it just normally going to do that? It's not really that big of a deal, just wondering if there was something that I could do to make it go down better. I checked all the cables and everything and it should be going down smooth. If the front of the case isn't going down, here is what I would try doing.
The little clip that you slide the IDE cable under, see if that is hitting the ring and causing the machine not to close the whole way.
If it is, you can just snip it off as I dont think your IDE cable is going to move anywhere it shouldn't.....lol. I never understood that clip thing anyway... HA.
Let me know if you can't get that jewel clear. I was cleaning out my desk and I found a flat clear replacement jewel that I could send you.

Hey, I found where I put it. I forgot, I also found a piano black Halo 2 jewel that I don't need.
It has a few scratches on it. I remember I rubbed the hot glue gun up against it and that's what did it, so if you ever use these ....don't do like I did:)
The Halo2 insignia is clear though and allows the light to flow through, so it gives a prett neat look.
Let me know which one you want, I'll send it to you.

ModGod,
Wow, you never cease to amaze me! It would be SO awesome if you could send me that Halo 2 jewel. Halo 2 is my game and that's all I ever usually play so it would be so awesome to show off. I really don't care that it has a few scratches in it, no biggie.
I'll also double check that IDE clip and see if that is causing a problem. Thank you so very much for all your awesome help in all of this. I'm so glad that I signed up for this site, especially to be a VIP member, it's all WELL WORTH IT! Thanks again.

It allows plenty to shine through..it has a sandblasted look to the clear section...but if you look at the pic below, this is the exact same jewel but only in the Xbox Lighting design.

I have a red one laying here to get rid of. I also have another black jewel I found that has Xbox written on it and flames coming off of it. Would be great for the red color.

Awesome, just wanted to make sure. Now I'm even more excited to get it and put it on cause one of my friend's is a DIE HARD Halo fan, he's read all the books, etc so it's going to be really nice to rub this in his face! HAHAHA! Thanks again!

The Jewel LED ring that I got from ModGod (green) cost 15 bucks and that's with shipping so not too shabby of a price, especially the quality of the ring and mirror below it. That will probably be my next project because I recently picked up an unmodded 1.6b xbox and I'm going to use it for testing stuff out and doing various case mods to it. I'll post some photos once I start diving into it.
Since my major is Graphic Design, I'll probably end up trying to paint it and do various artworks to it so hopefully it'll look cool and I could maybe use it for one of my projects, that'd be nice, a project that I'd actually work on! haha.
