Just wanted to see if anyone had an ice chip installed and died on you. I have seen a few go a week r two and just stopp working . Any input on this would be appreciated

no , actually i havent seen or heard of any xenium chips going bad ,

Three bum chips in the last two months.
No user error here.
If you have any of these puppies going bad on you and you cannot RMA them for whatever reason, see Cap269.
Not only may he be able to repair the chip for you, but he is compiling information for TeamXodus in effort to figure out what is going on with these chips.
A few months ago the only problem I had was the OS hanging up on first go. 7 out of 10 Ice Chips were doing this to me. I would install it, fire it up and get an amber color LED on the chip but no Video. I would also get a flashing green Eject light.
All I had to do was put the chip into recovery mode by pressing and holding the eject button in. Then, reboot machine and it (the chip) would boot to the Xenium OS.
Now the problems I have had is I will install a chip and on first boot I get the dreaded three power cycle and then the Xmas Tree Frag.
Two of the three chips wouldn't even go into recovery. Both chips were RMA'd at BMMods request. The third I still have to try to recover before I either send to Cap269 for inspection or RMA it. All I do is grab another chip out of stock and pop it on the pin header and then all is right in the world again.
Trust me, you are not the only one getting bad Ice Chips, and it cetainly has nothing to do with user error. I am sure there are plenty of botched installs that will cause the same type of frag. You have to dot your i's and cross your t's before assuming the chip is bad.

I received four "dead" chips today from four different people. I popped them into my test console and they fired right up and worked perfectly. Of course each of these four folks stated to me that their installation was "perfect" and they "followed the directions to the letter" ... That just goes to show you that mistakes can still happen, even when you think you've done it just right.
Now, I am not discounting the possibility that some chips do arrive DOA. After all, these are electronic devices, which can fail for no apparent reason. _________________ Visit Mid-South Mods for expert mod installation, repairs, and upgrades
