Has anyone ever had a machine that WON'T shut off. Well, actually I can shut it off, but then it boots back up on it's own after a second or two. I have had machines that wouldn't boot because of the standby resistor blowing, but this will actually allow the machine to go into standby, but then comes right out..
Any ideas?

Okay, thought I had the issue resolved, but actually I don't.
Now, here is what I have confirmed.
As soon as I put the plug into the Power Supply the machine quickly boots on it's own.
Now, when I press the power button nothing happens. At first, I could press it and it would shut down, then quickly turn back on. Or, if I held the power button in, it would shut down permanently. Now, the power button has no bearing on anything. It is unresponsive. I am going to try replacing the standby resistor to see what happens, but I am not hopeful.
I am assuming that this is a motherboard issue. I have swapped out PS's and no help. It has to be mobo related.
At any rate, I'm going to wrestle around with this a little more and see what I can come up with.
If anyone has any ideas, please feel free to shout out. _________________ Good Deals: Death@Hand, funkydopenloven, StaticMind, Slamscaper, PorscheXboxter
