Ok...I have been playing Halo 2 for since it came out..i got it at 12..big deal..but i went to put it and it said it was dirty and what-not..so i cleaned and it didnt work...so me and my brother took it to have it cleaned with one of the cleaner things and we put it in his friends XBox and it worked. I came home, put it in and it doesnt work..which leads me to think my philips DVD drive just isnt cutting it..should i switch to samsung or what?

Funny enough I have a Phillips DVD-ROM and I've never had any dramas, but then again I've heard of lot of ppl are.

I'd suggest getting one of the hacked Samsung DVD-ROMs if you are gonna get a replacement. They are the best for reading (in both time and compatibility)...

Your problem is just that the laser in your dvd rom drive is getting weak. You can purchase a new laser for it, or just buy a new drive. You should contact Kris at the xboxrepairguide.com he may take your broken drive in on trade and give you money off on a brand new one.
