I want to edit the X2 5035 BIOS itself, not the x2config file.

I downloaded a utility called X200L but that only edits the live x2config.ini file. Is there a utility that allows you to edit the .xbe bios file itself? All I wanna do is set the BIOS to look in C: instead of E: for the config file. Basically all I need to do is just change one letter in the whole bios.

Update: So I stumbled upon XBTool and I see that utility will edit a bios. I tried to load the Xecuter 2 5035 into XBTool and it says Kernel not supported. Does anyone know a different bios tool that will edit the X2 5035 bios?

You can check my BIOS Tools pack on the GREPO But I cant guarantee what you need is there. I only do softmods personally so sadly cant really help you.

XBTool doesn't support that BIOS to make configuration changes to it but what you need to do is unpack the BIOS and search for the path used to access the configuration file - \Device\Harddisk0\Partition1\x2config.ini - not a drive letter in the xboxkrnl.img file. Once unpacked, hex edit the file to make the change and re-Pack the files by browsing to the updated xboxkrnl.img file to create an updated BIOS dot bin file.

Partition1 = E
Partition2 = C
Partition3= X
Partiton4 = Y
Partition5 = Z
Partition6 = F
Partition7 = G

Unpacking the X2 5035 dot bin with XBTool 1.0.23a will create a folder that contains 3 files:

- 2bl.img
- remainder.img, and
- xboxkrnl.img

Looks like it already checks E and F for x2config.ini. See attached image.

The reason I wanted to edit the X2 5035 bios is to have two X2 bios's flashed to the Xenium in two different banks. One original X2 bios and one edited to search for the X2config file in a different folder than the original. Original X2 bios will search for the config file in E first and boot the unleashX dash. and the edited X2 bios will look for the config file in either C or F first and boot Evox dash.

Right now I just have the Evox dash in my apps folder and I can launch Evox from my UnleashX dash. I just wanted to have the two X2 Bios banks setup in the Xenium to save me the step having to boot into UnleashX first before I can boot into Evox. The other way I can just boot the secondary X2 Bios and it will boot directly into Evox.

But. I got sidetracked on this project for now. I'm currently trying to make my first UnleashX skin and I'm having some issues getting some source scripts rendered in the dash.
