Hi, I am new on this forum and I would like to take this opportunity to ask a few questions since Xbox-scene is dead. Here's the questions about modsI need answer. First of all, I have 2 Xbox consoles. One with a AppleX V chip and the other one is stock. Here's some info about the machines
Xbox 1: AppleX V chip + 160GB Maxtor HDD + Thompson DVD Drive - Serial # 2255752 32905
Xbox 2: Came with Forza according to the first owner 10GB WD HDD WD100EB-00BHF0 + DVD-ROM SDG-605
The thing is I received them recently, I cant't find any information on the AppleX V chip because of Apple's iPhone X but the HDD indicates it could load ISOs. I cannot use any console because I ha no TV with composite input. I am waiting on my new RGB cable, USB-to-Xbox adapter, 2 SATA-to-IDE adapters somewhere I also have a Mech Assault original copy but no compatible USB key for softmodding
Here's my questions
1. Can I use a SATA-to-IDE DVD-ROM or DVD-RW drive with an adapter?
2. Can I use a SATA+adapter or IDE Blue-Ray drive ?
3. Can I remove the DVD drive and use 2 HDDs?
4. Can I make RAID-0 Striped to boost speed and volume size?
5. Can I use a PC power supply? I am one form a Mini-ITX tower and the plug seems to be the same on the MotherBoard
6. What is the pinout of the DVD-Drive yellow cable? If needed I would use another PSU or a mini one. Can I use a 1-to-2 4-pin power adapter for another DVD Drive? Will it be too much ampere on a single line?
7. Any advantage to use a SSD beside low heat and no noise?
8. Once modded, can it accept external optical drives and external HDDs/USB keys?
9.Can it support MTP devices? (Android)
10. Anyone ever watercooled it?
11. Is loading ISOs from FTP instead of the IDE drive will be faster?
12. Anyone know where I can find a tutorial for the 1.4GHZ mod?
13. Where to buy Samsung RAM chip for the 128MB upgrade?
14. Should I use an Aladdin XT 2 chip instead? It is somethingaround 6$ CAD on Ebay and seems good
15. What is the pinout on the MB for the USB/controller ports?
Thank you

#1 Yes with a hardmod and certain BIOS that bypass the DVD check or if an XBOX DVD board is hooked up
#2 No
#3 Yes with an Xtender kit
#4 no
#5 probably but I wouldnt
#6 yellow is the power and dvd check and yes you can split the hdd molex power no issue
#7 no advantage to ssd unless you consider wasting money an advantage
#8 no, yes, yes
#9 no
#10 dont know
#11 cant load xbox iso over ftp, and iso is pointless it wastes ram and cpu power
#12/13 no idea

For the RAM chips UTSource and Alibaba both have them. Make sure you match the last primary digit though, that's the firmware. 1.0 and 1.1's use K4D263238M-QC50. If you see F-QC50 and no empty RAM slots on your board, that is a 1.6a.
Make sure you get a BIOS that supports the RAM and or CPU upgrade on your modchip before the upgrade since it's easiest with the box itself and HeXEn or similar utility.
I've seen tutorials, can't seem to find them though. Although the several CPU pinout adapters you would need to connect a Pentium 3 Tualatin are much more your concern. You won't find them anymore. If you did, still need to find a tutorial to connect the CPU clock speed limiter switch to 740MHz to play OGXbox games unpatched. You could have a second BIOS on your TSOP or chip patched to run 740MHz, but then you would still need to boot a different BIOS between emulated games and Xbox games. _________________ 320GB ST3320620A 7200RPM 16MB Cache
