Looks OK and full of good info but very early on in the first video it says you can't drag and drop into Xplorer360.
Yes you can; into the right pane.
It's usually considered the preferred method because the unusual Xplorer360 Add and Insert context menu options confuse some users more familiar with Copy/Paste. Drag and drop is simply easier.
That is an old softmod installer shown being used. IMHO Rocky5's 2016 Softmod package is the way to go now. Its like the culmination of all the best elements of the best, safest, softmods in one comprehensive updated package. One advantage is that it will work with any dash version.
I'd also recommend backing up the MS dash. The softmod being used didn't appear to even have that option. With SID/AID and many other softmods it is essential and not optional. It is used if you need to remove the softmod. Again that doesn't appear to be an option in the older installer used.
The second video stalled at 6'55" but, strangely, would allow you to skip past it and the rest played fine.
One thing missed was the importance of checking the new HDD has the jumper set to Slave. It may well work if the HDD default is Cable Select but it does need to be checked that it isn't set to Master for obvious reasons.
The Chimp info is also sightly wrong. If you used the Chimp download linked to the instructions it clearly tells you to do the IDE swap whilst the Xbox is idling on the main dash. Then launch Chimp. This is correct for all recent Chimp versions installed as apps.
You don't, in fact shouldn't, do it when Chimp is loading because if you mess up the swap and overrun the countdown period you'll have to go back and restart everything including the IDE swap.
The countdown is not for the swap anyway it is in case you want to select one of the other start menu options shown rather than boot the main Chimp menu. As shown that starts automatically at the end of the countdown if you haven't selected another option.
Chimp18.104.22.168 (as linked too) also isn't the latest version. Rocky5 with the permission and collaboration of Idotsfan, the guy who created Chimp2618, has updated it several times and improved the GUI and added a few more options too.
The version to use now is Chimp261812. Not available at the same place but if you Google it you'll find it easily.
Both good tutorials, particularly the details about connecting the Xbox to a PC. I also liked seeing the new HDD in the Chimp section shown seated on an anti-static bag. Resting the new HDD on top of the metal casing of the master HDD is asking for trouble. You could write off both if any live parts touched.

Thank you so very much for all the knowledge you have given me. I had to learn this little by little while trying to make heads or tails of someones breakdown of the instructions. If I do get another xbox original I will make a big update video. I have other videos with playstation 3 there which was fun to do and wish I can do that again. My next one is a nintendo switch dock mod.
